Join a leading legal, financial services and insurance business based in North Sydney. As part of the Group Risk & Compliance team, you'll support the management of regulatory risk across the organisation. The role offers hands-on exposure to regulatory change, policy advocacy, compliance support, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic in-house environment.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Change & Compliance
Monitor and summarise developments from regulators (ASIC, APRA, Treasury, ICA)

 Maintain registers, dashboards, and tracking tools

 Draft summaries and impact assessments of legal and regulatory changes

 Support regulatory change processes, templates, and internal guidance materials

 Industry Advocacy & External Engagement
Assist in preparing briefings, consultation responses, and correspondence

 Track regulatory and policy issues from government or industry bodies

 Support the business's involvement in industry forums and consultations

 Contribute to advocacy messaging and written submissions

 Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
Contribute to internal reports, including Board and committee materials

 Assist in preparing training and stakeholder communications

 Attend internal meetings, document key insights and action items

 Prepare briefing materials and follow-up documentation

 Projects & Framework Uplift
Provide research and coordination support for strategic regulatory projects

 Assist in uplifting frameworks, registers, and operational procedures

 Identify opportunities to streamline documentation and regulatory analysis

 

Ideal Candidate Profile

Education & Knowledge
Recent graduate in law (0–2 years' PQE)

 Interest in the Australian financial services regulatory environment

 Awareness of the general insurance sector and regulatory bodies (e.g. ASIC, APRA) is an advantage

 Skills
Strong research, analysis, and synthesis capabilities

 High attention to detail when reviewing legal and regulatory content

 Clear written communication skills adaptable to various audiences

 Organised and capable of managing competing priorities under supervision

 Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project tracking tools is beneficial
