Location: Parramatta
Employment type: Ongoing
Salary: Clerk Grade 7/8, $113,574 pa - $125,720 pa, plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
This dynamic role offers the opportunity to contribute to both project delivery and facilities maintenance across the Department's diverse asset portfolio. You'll work closely with the Senior Program Manager on high-impact initiatives, supporting the planning and execution of capital and operational projects that shape our built environment.
While your primary focus will be on driving project outcomes, from concept to completion, you'll also play a key role in coordinating maintenance activities when needed, ensuring our facilities remain safe, functional, and fit for purpose.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to make a tangible difference in how our spaces are delivered and maintained.
What you'll do
As Project Officer, you'll play a key part in delivering meaningful projects and maintaining critical infrastructure across the Department's assets.
You'll provide hands-on project management and support services, from preparing reports and briefing notes to coordinating resources and keeping project documentation up to date. You'll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, all while working within a well-established project management framework.
Beyond the desk, this role offers real-world engagement, including stakeholder collaboration to drive outcomes, site visits and audits to stay close to the action and monitoring and evaluation to ensure service delivery hits the mark.
Travel across the region may be required, giving you the chance to see the direct impact of your work and build strong relationships with teams on the ground.
What we're looking for
We're seeking a proactive and versatile professional with hands-on experience in construction projects, facilities management, and commercial maintenance. If you thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy seeing tangible outcomes from your work, this role offers the perfect blend of strategic oversight and on-the-ground impact.
You'll bring expertise in service delivery, procurement, and contractor coordination, along with a solid understanding of project management principles, including RAIDS (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies), stakeholder engagement, and governance frameworks.
Your strengths include:
- Managing budgets and tracking financials with precision
- Preparing clear, concise briefing notes
- Maintaining accurate project documentation
- Analysing supplier reports and reconciling expenditure data to uncover trends and risks
You'll be comfortable working across all phases of the project and maintenance lifecycle, engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity with tools like Smartsheet and MyWorkZone is highly regarded.
A current and valid driver's licence is essential, as the role involves travel across NSW, including occasional stays in remote locations—giving you the chance to see the real-world impact of your work.
