We are looking for a current/future Morling Residential College (MRC) resident, Morling College student, or someone with the appropriate skills and attributes to join our MRC team as a Residential Assistant

About the Role:

  • Provides leadership of the Residential Community at MRC.
  • Provides support and care to residents (e.g., resident well-being, academic assistance, etc).
  • Promotes a vibrant MRC community life.
  • Performs Duty Manager (DM) and First Responder responsibilities.
  • This role is fixed-term (02/02/2026 – 02/12/2026), part-time, 6 hours/week.
  • Additional to the 6 hours/week, this role is expected to undertake approximately one DM shift per week and one to two DM weekend shifts per month.
  • Remuneration: $8,805/annum (excl. Super) + additional wages for DM shifts and admin hours if required

Essential Attributes (please respond to all these attributes in your Cover Letter):

  • The appointment to this role is contingent upon residency at MRC or Morling Village (MV).
  • Current First Aid Certification (or willing to undertake training).
  • Ability to work peaceably in respect to the Christian ethos of MC and MC's Staff Code ).
  • Experience with and/or capable of responding to crisis situations.
  • Awareness of cultural, social, emotional and lifestyle differences in relation to community and residential life.
  • An empathetic and caring disposition with an interest in others.
  • Proven leadership, organisational, communication, and relationship skills.
  • Willingness to abide by Workplace Health and Safety practices.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Previous experience in a residential college or similar.
  • Previous experience as a Residential Assistant.
  • Event management and community development skills.
