The Role

We are thrilled to offer a permanent full-time opportunity for an experienced lawyer to join our esteemed team. Reporting to the Head of Legal, this role provides a chance to work alongside industry leaders and contribute significantly to the legal landscape of the grains industry.

Responsibilities include:

As a key member of our in-house legal team, you will:

• Manage corporate, commercial, and industry-specific contractual matters

• Navigate regulatory compliance Oversee legal claims involving or against the CBH Group

• Address a broad range of legal matters, including construction, employment, international trade, shipping, finance, construction, procurement, property and general commercial

• Collaborate with a small team of lawyers and engage with the broader CBH divisions and executive team

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure clarity and enforceability of CBH Group's contractual arrangements

• Provide pragmatic and commercial legal advice on operational issues

• Ensure compliance with legislative requirements, including the Cooperatives Act, Bulk Handling Act, Fair Work Act, and more

• Draft and update precedent agreements for business use

• Participate in project teams to achieve defined project outcomes

• Offer advice and representation on regulatory matters impacting the CBH Group

About You:

• 4 - 6 years' experience with a reputable law firm or similar in-house position

• Bachelor of Laws Degree

• Admission to practice in WA (or primary state of residence)

• Exceptional communication and writing skills, particularly in respect of being able to explain complex issues in a simple manner

• A collaborative spirit, comfortable working independently and as part of a team

• Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to forge relationships at all levels, internally and externally
