The Department of Housing and Urban Development's (DHUD) primary objective is the delivery of homes and housing options for South Australians. Whilst the Office of the Valuer-General (OVG) Directorate is part of DHUD, we are an independent Office with our own goals and mission – to deliver fair and equitable statutory valuations for all properties in the State. We are primarily staffed with specialist property valuers and support staff and are responsible and accountable for the State's Land Valuation System and ensuring that the functions undertaken by the Service Provider, Land Services SA (LSSA), in performing statutory valuations across the State are compliant and effectively administered in accordance with the Valuation of Land Act 1971 and the Land Services Agreement. The OVG also supports government decision making through the provision of professional valuation advice and strategic services.

The Role
Working closely with the Director, Regulatory & Advisory Valuations and the Regulatory team, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to deliver a range of regulatory and audit functions within the OVG. This role is responsible for data and statistical analysis, investigations, research and provision of advice to assist in the oversight of the Valuer-General's Service Provider to ensure compliance obligations are met. Responsibilities also include preparation and contribution to a range of technical valuation documentation for audit related purposes.

About You
OVG is seeking to recruit a dynamic team player with demonstrated audit experience and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following areas:

  • Audit related functions, including research, data and statistical analysis.
  • Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (spreadsheets), Word (templates).

Special Conditions

  • Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.
  • Some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
  • Some intra/interstate travel may be required.

Remuneration
ASO5 – $85,790 min – $95,413 max + superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
