About the role:

Peabody are currently seeking Underground Mechanical Fitters (Development) to join our Centurion underground mine; Our Centurion mine is located 160 kilometres west of Mackay. For more information on Centurion visit )

Reporting to the Mine Manager the scope of your new role will be include.

• Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on underground mobile equipment.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure safe, reliable operation.
• Carry out personal risk assessment, hazard identification and other safety requirements relevant to the role.
• Work closely with the shift supervisor and other trades to ensure minimal downtime.
• Work to "Best Practice" techniques to ensure that equipment is maintained to a high safety, productive and reliable standard.
• Compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
• Participate in site continuous improvement initiatives.

This position is offered on a 7:7 day/night roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah) DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

About you:

• Trade qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years in underground coal mining
• Ability to work effectively in a team, coupled with strong communication skills
• Operation of underground equipment as required.
• A demonstrated commitment to safety and the ability to work effectively in a team are key requirements of the role.
• Commitment to high performance standards.

In addition to the above, you will have a genuine commitment to safety and demonstrate a sound understanding of risk and hazard identification. You will be an exceptional team member with a flexible attitude and sound work ethic.
