At MIWM our aim is to nurture Women, Infants and the mother-infant bond with gentle and thoughtful guidance around general health, wellbeing, infant feeding, sleep and settling. We have been providing the highest standard of care to families across the nation since 2019. Our clinic offers general and specialist women's and children's medical consultations, allied therapies and complementary services to ensure that women and families receive exceptional care in a safe and nurturing environment.

We are seeking compassionate and enthusiastic volunteers with lived or work-based experience in caring for babies and young children, to join our team in providing support to mothers, babies, and patients throughout their time in our clinic. The volunteer will help to support families before, during and after appointments, and assist staff and practitioners to create a calm, welcoming environment.

Our volunteers will help support mothers, babies, and patients throughout their time in our clinic through compassionate care and utilising lived or work-based experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cuddling and comforting babies while mothers are in appointments/massages

  • Supporting mothers before and after appointments

  • Preparing drinks (e.g., tea or coffee) for patients

  • Assist our team to maintain a welcoming, tidy clinic environment

  • Being a friendly face patients can socialise with and share their pregnancy/motherhood journey

As a volunteer, you'll be directly helping us support mothers, babies, and patients throughout their time in our clinic. Your involvement will enable patients to attend appointments with their baby and leave them in trusted hands while they get the care they need.

Requirements

To join our volunteer team you will need to provide the following:

  • Evidence of lived or worked experience with babies and children

  • Volunteer Working with Children Check

  • National Police Check (contact for our CVF number)

  • Evidence of vaccination history (including flu vaccine)

PLEASE NOTE: This is an unpaid position, volunteers are not eligible for a per/hourly wage

Job Type: Volunteer

Pay: From $0.01 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 6 per week
