Contract Type: Labour Hire
Hourly Pay Rate: APS6: $ $71.29 | EL1: $ $88.31 plus 12% superannuation
Working Arrangements: Full-time onsite | Flexible work arrangements will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
About the Role
A Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the delivery and enhancement of critical security systems and information systems that underpin the Department's operations in Australia and overseas.
The successful candidate will provide high-level analytical support, requirements management, and stakeholder engagement across a range of security-related projects. This role will contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, systems, and capabilities to ensure secure, efficient, and effective outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the elicitation, documentation, and management of functional and system requirements for security projects.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather, refine, and validate requirements using recognised analysis techniques.
- Analyse existing operational processes and identify opportunities for efficiency, optimisation, and improvement.
- Evaluate proposed ICT and capability solutions to ensure alignment with departmental standards, policies, and security requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and process documentation to support informed decision-making.
- Support the implementation of new systems and processes through effective analysis, documentation, and communication.
- Collaborate with technical teams and subject matter experts to define project objectives, functional specifications, and testing requirements.
- Contribute to quality assurance, validation, and continuous improvement activities.
About You
You are an experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in supporting complex ICT or security-related projects within the Australian Public Service. You are skilled at working with stakeholders to define clear, actionable requirements and at producing high-quality analytical deliverables that drive measurable outcomes.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in business analysis within a Federal Government or secure project environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in process review and improvement.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and deliver results within agreed timeframes.
- Understanding of government governance, security, and policy frameworks.
Desirable Qualifications
- Qualifications in Business Analysis, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum NV2 Security Clearance.
