Parks Victoria is seeking an experienced Heritage Advisor to lead post-fire heritage recovery efforts in Victoria's Western region, working collaboratively with Traditional Owners to protect and integrate Aboriginal cultural heritage into recovery planning.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Heritage Advisor – Gariwerd to support the recovery of Victoria's Western region following fire. In this vital role, you will lead and contribute to post-event Heritage evaluations, working closely with operational and recovery teams. A key part of your work will involve meaningful engagement and collaboration with Traditional Owners, ensuring cultural heritage is respected and integrated into recovery planning.

We're looking for someone with:

• Extensive experience in the field of Aboriginal cultural heritage protection
• Demonstrated experience in engagement and partnership-building with Traditional Owners, Aboriginal persons and Aboriginal groups
• Knowledge and ability to develop, monitor and deliver programs to achieve organisational objectives
• Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively as part of a team
