Resident Director - Sydney

About the Role:
We are seeking a Sydney-based Resident Director to oversee the on-site management and delivery of WorldStrides programs in Sydney. Reporting to the Regional Director (Pacific), the Resident Director works closely with our Australian and U.S. teams to ensure students have a safe, enriching, and life-changing study abroad experience.

This is a full-time, work-from-home position, with regular local and interstate travel for student support, orientations, excursions, and university engagement, and potential for some international travel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Orientation & Support - Conduct student orientations upon arrival, covering housing, safety, academic expectations, and cultural adjustment. Provide ongoing support to students throughout their program.
  • Program Management & Delivery - Organise, attend, and manage WorldStrides activities, excursions, and events in Sydney. Some weekend work is required.
  • Housing Coordination - Support student accommodationplacements and assist with housing-related issues or emergencies.
  • Crisis Management & On-Call Duties - Remain available after hours to handle urgent student or program matters.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with university partners, housing providers, transport operators, and activity vendors to ensure smooth program operations.
  • Team Collaboration - Work closely with other Resident Directors and the global operations team to maintain program quality, compliance, and consistency across Australia.

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and cultural awareness — someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working with university-aged students.

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Experience managing international education, study abroad, or student travel programs
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skillsA friendly, confident, and solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience living, working, or studying abroad
  • Confidence using digital tools and systems for communication, logistics, and reporting
  • Legal right to work in Australia (no sponsorship available)
