We are seeking an exceptional Art and Design Technician to join our enthusiastic and supportive team. This is a fixed-term role for Term 4, 2025.
About the position
The Art and Design Technician maintains the safe and efficient running of Art and Design workshops while supporting teaching and learning through practical assistance, resource development and the integration of new technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and service workshop machinery, tools and specialist equipment (e.g., Laser Cutters, 3D printers, heat press).
- Manage consumables, materials, deliveries and purchasing for projects and general department needs.
- Ensure workshops are safe, well-presented and compliant with WHS requirements.
- Assist staff and students with practical activities, machinery use, and project support, including Year 12 projects.
- Prepare teaching materials and support the development of new student projects.
- Carry out general maintenance, handyman tasks and liaise with facilities and ICT teams as required.
- Collaborate with Art and Design staff to support teaching and learning initiatives.
Essential to this role:
- Hands-on experience with timber, metals, plastics, electronics, and workshop machinery.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, 3D printing, TinkerCAD, Sketch, and Laser Cutter software.
- Basic electrical, electronics, and programming skills (C or Python).
- Committed to student safety and supporting learners of all skill levels.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Organised, punctual, and holds First Aid certification
