With two production & processing hubs, along with eight mine/development projects in Western Australia, we are excited to announce the start of the new Dalgaranga underground mining operation.

Recruiting has commenced immediately to build a fantastic team to tackle the high grade Never Never and Pepper deposits. Dalgaranga sits within the wider Mt Magnet hub, which has produced some 2.1 million ounces of gold for Ramelius since its purchase in 2014 and has a mine life of more than 17 years.

The Role

As an Open Pit Geology Technician, you'll play a vital role in supporting the Dalgaranga Geology team to safely and efficiently deliver ore to the mill and minimise dilution. Ideally, you will possess previous experience working in mining, either as a geological field technician or around mining environments, preferably with gold operations or exploration teams. However, more importantly, character attributes of motivated, responsible, self-driven team player individuals will be highly regarded.

Please note this is is a 12 month fixed term contract opportunity, with excellent options to move into permanent positions at our other operations or the Exploration team at the conclusion of the position. 

Reporting to the Geology Technician Leading Hand, your responsibilities will include:

• Complete ore block mark-outs and blast vector indicators in the open pit.
• Prepare, collect, submit, and dispatch grade control samples.
• Monitor and support the open pit mining contractor to ensure ore extraction practices are followed and blast plans are implemented effectively and safely.
• Assist with drill programs and geological data collection.
• Maintain the geology consumables, vehicles and tools.
• Ensure accurate data recording to support grade/tonnage estimates.
• Actively contribute to a strong safety and continuous improvement culture

About You

You're a motivated team player who thrives in a practical, hands-on mining environment. You'll bring:

• Physical fitness with an understanding of safe lifting techniques.
• Some previous experience in a similar role across an open pit mining environment.
• Core processing experience would be beneficial.
• Work as part of a team, participate in safety meetings and have positive communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, ensure daily tasks met and solid computer skills.
• Adaptable with the ability to pick up new tasks quickly.
• A current West Australian C Class (manual) driver's licence and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance for site access clearance.
