About this opportunity
As a Rehabilitation and Recovery Support Worker, you will provide practical, hands-on support to people aged 16+ living with mental health challenges. Your work will help participants develop self-management skills, achieve personal goals and actively engage in their communities.
You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Peer Workers and Social and Emotional Wellbeing Workers, collaborating to ensure participants get the right support at the right time.
- Deliver one-on-one, community-based support tailored to individual recovery needs
- Help participants build daily living skills, confidence, and independence
- Work closely with a collaborative team and external services to coordinate care
You'll bring a contemporary understanding of mental health issues and a commitment to recovery-oriented practice. With a willingness to reflect, learn and grow, you'll continuously develop your skills through supervision, training, feedback, and hands-on experience. You'll also need to be comfortable using your own smartphone (iPhone or Android) to support communication.
Pre-engagement requirements:
- Completion of the Certificate 4 in Mental Health or Certificate 4 in Mental Health Peer Work (or be enrolled in and actively working toward completing one of these qualifications)
- Rights to work in Australia and a current and valid Driver's License
- Satisfactory Police Records (less than 12 months old)
- NDIS Workers Orientation Module – "Quality Safety and You" – free online course
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
Desirable criteria
- Experience in delivering psychosocial support to people living with significant mental health challenges
- Experience in outreach support
- Previous training in mental health (e.g. Mental Health First Aid, ASIST)
