ABOUT THE ROLE

The ideal candidate possesses genuine excitement and passion for good food and the desire to grow in the industry. You will work with quality products and assist in the culinary department of the hotel. Above all, you will be keen to learn and be committed to achieving the very best. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing foodWash and peel fresh fruits and vegetablesWeigh, measure, and mix ingredientsPrepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklistPrepare cold foodsOperate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryersTest foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficientlyMonitor food quality while preparing foodSet-up and break down work stationServe food in proper portions onto proper receptaclesWash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipmentCheck and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and foodFollow 5 star luxury standards

Experience and ability to work in a fast paced and quality driven working environmentMust be passionate about food and keen to showcase their ability in fast-paced environmentWell-developed ability to work independently and as part of a strong, diverse and dynamic teamExcellent organisational skills and strong work ethicEnthusiasm, awareness and great teamworkAble to communicate and showcase reliabilityWash and disinfect kitchen area, tables, tools, knives, and equipmentFollow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications
