An exciting opportunity has become available for a full time Junior Draftsperson to join our expanding Projects Custom Design Team, where your CAD experience will be valued, and your skills enhanced.

You will begin by supporting the existing team on active projects while receiving comprehensive in-house training on our systems and practices.  This role offers various tasks and opportunities, including further education, professional and personal development whilst being involved in new and challenging projects, in a friendly environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD – Minimum Cert II  (Students considered)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs
  • Permanent Resident

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of Steel Buildings
  • Experience in Structural Steel Detailing
  • Experience with Drafting
  • Experience with Inventor or Solidworks Programs
  • Experience with Revit Program
  • Qualification with Building Designer
  • Construction or closely related industry experience

The Role

Experience dependant, training and duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Designing Custom; predominately cold-form steel buildings within in-house software
  • Utilising Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook)
  • 2D drafting in AutoCAD
  • 3D drafting in Inventor
  • Generating Revit Conceptual Drawings
  • Generating Bill of Materials
  • Punching documentation
  • Generating shop drawings for production
  • Providing Technical Support for builders/trades constructing the buildings
  • Tending to enquiries from our production team
  • Completing Orders of externally sourced components
  • Assistance with quoting custom sheds both in programs and manually
  • Assisting team members with tender documents and proposals
  • Building rapport and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders in the business internally and externally
