We are seeking a casual Breakfast Demi Chef to join our team at Novotel Sunshine Coast Resort

Job Description
This role is ideal for a passionate, motivated Demi Chef looking to work in a fast-paced, high-volume buffet-style breakfast service. You'll play a key role in delivering a consistent, high-quality breakfast experience while supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior chefs with the preparation and delivery of buffet-style breakfast service, ensuring variety, freshness, and quality at all times
  • Oversee assigned breakfast sections, ensuring smooth and efficient operations
  • Uphold exceptional food presentation and hygiene standards, maintaining cleanliness and organisation across all workstations
  • Prepare mise-en-place and support stock control by monitoring inventory, minimising waste, and adhering to rotation procedures
  • Help train and guide junior team members or apprentices where required
  • Liaise with chefs and kitchen leadership to ensure consistent service and timely replenishment during peak service period.

Qualifications
Key Requirements:

  • Formal culinary trade qualifications and previous experience in the hotel or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Proven experience in high-volume buffet-style breakfast service, including preparation, presentation, and replenishment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on maintaining food quality and presentation in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple stations.
  • Adaptable, with a proactive attitude and the ability to respond positively to changing demands and operational needs.
