About the role

This is a rare opportunity for a passionate and highly motivated individual to join our Aviation & Critical Services team in Essendon. Babcock Mission Critical Services operates and maintains a fleet of AW139 helicopters used across Victoria in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) roles.

This role offers a 4-year hands-on apprenticeship leading to a Diploma of Aeroskills – Mechanical, in a high-demand occupation, mentored by some of the best in the industry. You'll be involved in scheduled servicing, defect rectification of AW139 helicopters, assisting with avionic repairs and maintenance, general upkeep of plant and equipment, store duties, and more.

About You

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A valid driver's licence
  • A strong academic record, with preference for mathematics and physics
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • A genuine interest in practical hobbies/activities and a high level of dexterity
  • Basic understanding of mechanical principles
  • An outstanding work ethic and self-motivation
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team

Highly regarded qualifications include:

  • Successful completion of Year 12 secondary education

Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) test.
