Heavy Duty Mechanic – Mackay Workshop

BTP has long term opportunities for HD Mechanic / Heavy Diesel Mechanic's to join our team in Mackay. Day and Afternoon Shifts available.

Machine Rebuilds and repairs, Scheduled Maintenance, Diagnostics, Commissioning, Tuning / Adjusting and Component Change outs to a large variety of surface mining equipment. High quality of work and attention to detail with a large focus on personal and team safety. Working within a great team environment the successful applicant will be helping drive a positive culture while assisting apprentices build their confidence and skillset.

Key Requirements

  • Australian Recognised Heavy Duty Trade Qualifications
  • Experience working on CAT, Komatsu, or Hitachi mining equipment.
  • Sound knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, and drivetrain systems.
  • Valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • Valid Forklift Licence
  • Dogging Ticket (desirable)
  • Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to a Full Pre-Employment medical and National Police Clearance)

  • Passionate about quality of work ensuring functionality and reliability exceeds customer expectations.
  • Knowledge and application of Occupational Health and Safety in the workplace
