Heavy Duty Mechanic & Heavy Diesel Fitter


At our expanding equipment workshop in Mackay, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic and Heavy Diesel Fitter to join our team.

We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in heavy machinery repair and maintenance. If you have experience working with Caterpillar equipment, particularly in component rebuilds, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

The successful candidate will be responsible for rebuilding and repairing heavy duty components, including transmissions, torque converters, differentials, final drives, wheel groups, and hydraulic cylinders. You will work closely with our Workshop Manager to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and on time.

To be considered for this role, you will need:
  1. A trade qualification in automotive or engineering, with experience in component rebuilds.
  2. Previous experience working with heavy duty machinery, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
  3. Knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures and protocols.
  4. Competent computer skills, including experience using Caterpillar SIS.
