Mechanical Technician

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Mechanical Technician to join our Networks team in Kidman Park SA, on a permanent fulltime basis.

Reporting to the Field Delivery Manager, this role maintains small plant and equipment for field crews and general vehicle repairs, dead batteries, lights, truck modifications and also minor repairs.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair small mechanical plant and equipment similar to compaction equipment, quick cuts and generators.
• Inspect, maintain and minor repairs to trailers.
• Inspect and maintain CNG filling station and cylinders
• Maintain awareness of personal safety and that of the colleagues and the operations
• Work effectively as part of an efficient team of professionals

Your background

• Certification or licensed as a Mechanical Technician
• Experience inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of equipment.
• Has the ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• C Class driver's licence

About the Team

Networks manages and operates local distribution networks and transmission pipelines that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.

This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects, including biogas and hydrogen and also the 2032 Olympics.  Also, we have a strong culture of continuous improvement and working towards Net Zero with the introduction of renewable green gas into the Gas Networks.  We need people who are courageous, nimble and ready to make a positive impact.
