Role Details

We are seeking Two (2) experienced category specialist with commercial acumen and analytical thinking competency to join our Group's newly established category management team based in Adelaide. This role is responsible for developing and implementing procurement category strategies and structured contract management framework/practices across the Group.

Working across our global operations, the successful candidate will partner with various business stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds to manage and lead in the delivery of strategic sourcing and contract management services, and to ensure these activities are aligned with the broader business strategies and plans.  The role is hands-on and business impact focused, reporting to the Group Procurement Manager and supporting broader Group-wide risk, compliance, and operational functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with executives, operational leaders, and project teams to align category strategies with business needs and corporate objectives.
• Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process — from market analysis and tender preparation to supplier negotiations, contract execution, and mobilisation.
• Develop category plans through spend analysis, cost driver assessment, and supply market insights, incorporating risk, compliance, and sustainability considerations.
• Manage key supplier relationships, ensuring delivery against KPIs, driving continuous improvement, and resolving critical performance or supply issues.
• Oversee major contracts across their lifecycle, including variations, renewals, extensions, and re-tenders.
• Provide commercial and procurement support for capital projects, IT initiatives, and financial compliance activities.
• Contribute to Group-wide procurement capability by sharing expertise, supporting regional teams, and embedding structured procurement and contract management practices.

What You Will Bring

Essential

• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, Legal, Data Analytics, Engineering or relevant fields.
• Multiple years' experience in strategic procurement, leading in end-to-end procurement process or category management.
• Experience in different industries or organisations, especially in heavy industry, resource or mining
• A team player, reliable and collaborative.
• Effective communication and influencing skills.
• Strong analytical skills and forwarding thinking
• A problem solver with commercial acumen.

Desirable

• Experience in data analysis to drive data and insights as inputs into category strategies and financial analysis to support budget or project control.
• Experience in working in different lingual/cultural environment (English & Spanish speaking preferred).
• Membership of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or other similar professional certifications.
