Child & Youth Sexual Assault Counsellor (Crisis + Ongoing)
Join a passionate multidisciplinary team providing crisis intervention and long-term counselling to children, young people, and their families affected by sexual violence. About the Role
- Provide therapeutic counselling and support to children, young people, and families impacted by sexual assault.
- Participate in multidisciplinary crisis response and child-protection taskforce meetings.
- Deliver education, training, and advice to raise awareness and strengthen community prevention.
- Build strong partnerships with health and community services to enhance support for young clients.
- Participate in the on-call roster as required and maintain service quality and safety standards.
What You'll Need
- Relevant tertiary degree as a Social Worker, Counsellor or Registered Psychologist
- AASW, AHPRA, APS membership
- Australian working rights - working holiday visa's welcome
- Minimum 3 years experience delivering counselling to children and young people affected by trauma or sexual assault.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention models and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
- Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural issues.
- Experience delivering education or training focused on young people.
- Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
- Valid driver's licence
