Driver / Trades Assistant

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated Driver/Trades Assistant with a minimum HC licence to join our Equipment Division at Perth Airport . This role involves supporting the workshop team with mechanical tasks, assisting tradespeople on the floor, and carrying out any excess equipment movements that the current driver cannot handle. Occasional B Double driving may be required.

What We Offer:

• Full-time permanent role with consistent hours
• Monday – Friday, 12hrs/day, 6:00am – 6:00pm
• $40.39/hour plus 15% superannuation
• Opportunity to work with a dynamic team across multiple sites
• Exposure to a variety of vehicles, equipment, and mechanical tasks

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with mechanical repairs (diesel & petrol) under the direction of the Team Leader
• Pick up and deliver vehicles, equipment, and parts as required
• Yard movements of heavy vehicles, including rigid trucks, prime movers, and trailers
• Maintain workshop and equipment cleanliness and organisation
• Perform weekly/monthly vehicle and equipment checks
• Maintain accurate job cards and records
• Follow all OHS procedures and participate in safety programs

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong mechanical knowledge and workshop experience
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Well-organised, motivated, and safety-conscious

Qualifications & Licences:

• Minimum HC Driver Licence (B Double / MC advantageous)
• Forklift Licence preferred
• White Card (preferred)
