We have offices located in the heart of Perth's CBD on St Georges Terrace, on the waterfront in Bunbury, and now in North Fremantle.
About the Role
As part of our dynamic insurance team, you'll primarily focus on defending CTP claims while having some opportunity to diversify into commercial transactions, litigation, and employment matters. You'll work alongside a respected and highly experienced Insurance Partner and team who will provide mentorship and guidance throughout your career development.
Junior to Mid-Level Position (2-5 years PAE):
- Handle a diverse caseload ranging from simple to complex injury and dependency compensation claims
- Develop skills in motor vehicle CTP accident claims from initial assessment through resolution
- Draft legal opinions and pleadings with appropriate supervision and support
Senior Position (5+ years PAE):
- Manage complex catastrophic injury and fatal accident claims with significant exposure to intricate liability and quantum issues
- Autonomously manage your files with the ongoing support of our Insurance Partner
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Handle high-value and strategically important matters for our leading defendant insurer client
- Tailor your court work involvement to your preferences - undertake as much or as little court work as you desire
Key Responsibilities (All Levels):
- Defend injury and dependency compensation claims for a leading defendant insurer
- Draft comprehensive legal opinions covering minor to catastrophic injury claims
- Navigate liability and quantum issues, fatal accident dependency claims, and recovery matters
- Work both independently and collaboratively within our highly respected team
Experience
Prior insurance defence experience is advantageous but not essential. We actively encourage plaintiff lawyers seeking a career transition to defence work to apply.
