The Opportunity
We are seeking a Solicitor or Senior Associate to join our leading Band 1 Project Finance team based in Sydney.
In this role, you will work with Partners Erin Wakelin and Elizabeth (Libby) Charlesworth, along with other leading Australian finance and project specialists in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, in a collaborative and cohesive national team.
What you'll do
Join a market-leading Project Finance team advising on Australia's most complex and high-profile transactions across the energy transition, infrastructure, and mining sectors.
Work on cutting-edge energy projects including wind, PV solar, battery storage, hybrid, pumped hydro, energy-from-waste, electric vehicle infrastructure, and hydrogen developments.
Be part of transformative infrastructure deals spanning transport, healthcare, natural resources, social infrastructure, and social and affordable housing.
Advise on both domestic and international projects, collaborating with top-tier clients who are shaping the future of their industries.

The Project Finance Practice
As one of the world's pre-eminent energy and infrastructure firms with a global reputation for excellence in the sector, we have a deep understanding of project finance transactions and the everyday operation of energy and infrastructure assets globally.
Our role as trusted advisers goes beyond simply advising on the financing of a project and extends to strategic advice and analysis, and the structuring, planning and documentation aspects of transactions.
Our Energy and Resources team and Banking and Finance teams are Chambers Australia Band 1 practices, reinforcing the exceptional work we do with our clients and the market-leading energy and infrastructure projects we advise on.

Wooreen BESS: advising Energy Australia on the project financing of the greenfield development and project financing of the 350 MW / 1400 MWh Wooreen Energy Storage System, located in Victoria's Latrobe Valley
CPERI portfolio refinancing: advising CleanPeak Energy's Renewable Investment Trust (CPERI) on their $465 million debt portfolio refinancing deal to support future projects
Central West Orana Regulated Concessions: advising Energy Corporation of NSW in relation to the financing aspects of the procurement of the CWO (and other) regulated concessions – creating the world first model for these projects which will be replicated around the world.
Canberra Metro: advising the sponsors to the successful Canberra Metro consortium in relation to Stage 1 and subsequently on the augmentation with Stage 2A of the ACT Capital Metro PPP, including developing a successful model for ringfencing the completed, financed project Stage 1 while funding the new Stage 2A.
