National Workforce is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Fitter to join our client, a leading Resource Recycling and Manufacturing company based in Laverton.

This role is hands-on, working in a dusty and noisy recycling environment, where you'll play a key part in keeping plant and equipment running efficiently and safely.

About the Role

We're looking for a Maintenance Fitter with experience in diesel mechanics, mechanical fitting, fitting & turning, or similar trades. The position involves a wide range of maintenance tasks, including bearing replacement, general welding, fault-finding, and preventative maintenance to support site operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance and inspections on plant and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company policies.
  • Identify and resolve issues before they escalate.
  • Perform repairs and modifications to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to optimize performance.
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain a safe, positive, and productive workplace.
What We're Looking For
  • Trade qualification as a Fitter, Fitter & Turner, Diesel Mechanic, or similar.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on maintenance experience.
  • Ability to complete welding, fitting, and equipment repair tasks.
  • Availability for day shifts, 8-12 hours daily, with flexibility as required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
