The opportunity & how you will make an impact.

Shaping tomorrow's cities and communities begins with planning. We provide holistic strategic advice for the public and private sector to understand the full spectrum of planning.

Our planners are the most experienced and awarded in the country guiding projects from vision to approval and beyond. Currently we have two Associate Director opportunities available to be based in either our Sydney or Brisbane office.

As an Associate Director in the Social Planning team every day is different You'll make an impact by:

  • Undertaking advanced social research and analysis, including of demographic data, social policy, community engagement outcomes and best practice trends in social infrastructure
  • Undertaking social planning methodologies, including social impact assessments and social infrastructure planning
  • Providing practical advice and strategic input to partners and clients on a wide range of social matters
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across Urbis to lead fee proposals and tender responses, and deliver multidisciplinary projects
  • Nurturing and developing individual staff members, through effective coaching and mentoring

  • Tertiary qualifications in social sciences, urban planning, geography or related discipline coupled with relevant demonstrated experience in social or strategic planning in a consultancy based environment
  • Have a deep understanding of the social challenges and opportunities facing communities in NSW
  • Extensive experience executing social assessment, such as social impact and benefits assessment, safety by design assessment, community needs analysis, and developer contributions advice
  • Advanced capability in preparing social strategies, plans, policies, social value strategies and frameworks
