Key responsibilities include:
  • Cook all meals in accordance to food and service standards
  • Perform food preparation tasks and to check quality/presentation of orders to make sure food is cooked consistently and properly
  • Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
  • Ensure kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals
  • Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen ensuring the Head Chef is supported
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work to promote a safe, secure environment for staff and patrons
  • Ensure that the necessary stock is on hand at the right quality and quantity.
Essential requirements:
  • Trade Qualifications in Commercial Cookery are essential
  • 2-3 years experience in a similar role (essential)
  • Trained in Asian Cuisine / Noodle preparation
  • A sound knowledge of food safety
  • Experience working with and implementing HACCP procedures
  • Ability to delegate tasks to the wider team and follow up/ monitor standards
  • Desire to grow, learn & develop yourself and the food offering
  • Ability to run the kitchen in head chefs absence
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be able and prepared to work varied shift work, weekends and public holidays
