Bankstown Sports Club are currently seeking an experienced Junior Sous Chef to work along our Head Chef, on a Full-Time basis, in our busy Events Kitchen. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

As someone with previous experience in the kitchen looking to grow, you will possess a passion for delivering excellent customer service. Working alongside our kitchen leaders, you will have impeccable grooming, presentation, and communication skills- leading by example for your team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Cook all meals in accordance to food and service standards
- Perform food preparation tasks and to check quality/presentation of orders to make sure food is cooked consistently and properly
- Plan work on orders so that items served together are finished at the same time
- Ensure kitchen is kept to a high standard by providing a clean, hygienic environment for the preparation and delivery of meals
- Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen ensuring the Head Chef is supported
- Develop and implement safe systems of work to promote a safe, secure environment for staff and patrons
- Ensure that the necessary stock is on hand at the right quality and quantity.
Essential requirements:
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role (essential)
- Experience in high-volume kitchens, ideally in events, banquets, or large-scale functions
- Trade Qualifications in Commercial Cookery are essential
- A sound knowledge of food safety
- Experience working with and implementing HACCP procedures
- Ability to delegate tasks to the wider team and follow up/ monitor standards
- Ensure smooth and consistent food production aligned with event menus
- Desire to grow, learn & develop yourself and the food offering
- Ability to run the kitchen in head chefs absence
- Strong attention to detail
- Great communication skills (verbal and written)
- Must be able and prepared to work varied shift work, weekends and public holidays
