Social Media Assistant – Part-Time

We're looking for a creative and hands-on Social Media Assistant to help bring the Karen Willis Holmes Bridal brand to life online. This is a part-time/casual/contract role (2 days per week) where you'll focus on creating, capturing, and editing engaging content that resonates with our audience.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager and Creative Director:

  • Plan, shoot, and edit social media content. Work iPhone and laptops provided.
  • Capture both behind-the-scenes and styled content (photography + short-form video).
  • Create social-first visuals (Reels, TikTok-style snippets, still images).
  • Direct and guide content shoots, ensuring brand vision is maintained.
  • Feature in content when required.
  • Assist on yearly Campaign Photoshoots and other shoots as they come up through the year.
  • Your main working location will between our Sydney HQ in Newtown and our Flagship Boutique in Alexandria.
  • Some further travel may be required in the role.

About You

  • You're social-media savvy with a natural eye for creative storytelling.
  • Comfortable shooting and editing content optimised for Instagram/TikTok using iPhone.
  • A photography or videography background is a plus, but not essential.
  • Confident giving direction during shoots and working with talent/models.
  • Confident being in front of the camera yourself and wearing our dresses for content.

The Process

Our recruitment process includes:

  1. Interview at HQ – Meet with our team to discuss your ideas, experience, and creative approach.

  2. On-site Content Trial – You'll spend time at HQ capturing content while 2–3 dresses are being tried on. We'll review the following:

  3. 1 x 30-second video for Instagram

  4. 1–2 short-form snippet-style videos
  5. 3 x still images for posting (These will be posted with the successful applicant).

    You'll also edit the content and share how long the full process took.
  6. Compensation – The trial will be paid (shoot time + editing time).
