Position Highlights
The successful applicant will join the school with a focus on providing quality Catholic education, maximising student outcomes by offering a rich, relevant and holistic curriculum that is student centred, flexible and challenging.
This role is scheduled to commence on 27 January 2026 at the South Hurstville Campus. Although full-time is preferable an 0.8 FTE load will be considered for the right candidate.

About You
As an EAL/D Literacy Teacher, you work to ensure every student reaches their full potential through high quality, collaborative and engaging pedagogy.
To excel in this role, you will:
- demonstrate the ability and qualifications to teach English
- preferably have TESOL (or equivalent) qualifications and experience teaching EAL/D students in a secondary school setting
- demonstrate the ability and willingness to engage in school based identification of LBOTE and EAL/D students, undertaking phasing of EAL/D learners through a variety of modes
- demonstrate the ability to support EAL/D learners to improve their language development via team/parallel teaching, withdrawal and teaching EAL/D English classes
- be willing to contribute to whole school literacy development by resourcing and embedding explicit literacy teaching and learning activities into teaching programs across KLAs
- be willing to work collaboratively with the College Leadership team in taking a strategic approach to the implementation of EAL/D and literacy initiatives
- support the inclusive Catholic religious and cultural environment for students.
You will have attained:
- a tertiary qualification in Education
- eligibility according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA)
- Religious Education qualifications or the willingness to achieve them as per Accreditation Policy to Work, Teach, and Lead.
