As a Senior Standard Operating Environment (SOE) Engineer you will contribute your skills and expertise in a multi-disciplinary team focused on managing and enhancing quality end user enabling technologies, including Microsoft Windows SOEs, mobile and desktop device management, and enterprise collaboration and communication tools.

Key duties include:

  • Design, development, maintenance and (Level 3) support for:

  • the Standard Operating Environment (SOE), including desktop productivity software and corporate device configurations (desktop and iOS devices)

  • the enterprise messaging and collaboration environment
  • enterprise remote access solutions (virtual desktop and VPN).
  • Packaging and deployment of applications.
  • Management of automated patching processes.
  • Providing expert technical advice across supported platforms and services.
  • Provide Level 3 support for complex technical issues escalated from Level 1 and Level 2.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge management artefacts.
  • Participate in project planning and execution for upgrades, migrations, and new service rollouts.
  • Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Tech Skills:
  • Microsoft Windows (and related environment management, monitoring and automation tools)
  • Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise
  • Microsoft Intune or Microsoft Configuration Manager (MCM)
  • Microsoft App-V
  • Group Policy and Intune-managed device configuration
  • Automation products and scripting with Microsoft PowerShell.
Essential Criteria:
  1. Demonstrated experience designing, maintaining and enhancing secure, stable and architecturally aligned enterprise SOEs, based on Microsoft Windows technologies.
  2. Demonstrated expertise on the packaging and deployment of corporate applications.
  3. Demonstrated experience in the design, maintenance and enhancement of automated patching solutions for both operating systems and applications.
  4. Demonstrated experience applying relevant subject matter expertise to support technical colleagues as well as end users (Level 3 support).
  5. Strong experience in writing technical documentation including SOPs and design documentation.
