About the role

As a Lead Hardware Engineer at Lockheed Martin Australia Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of cutting-edge mission critical systems. Responsible for driving the design, implementation and testing of mission-critical hardware solutions. This full-time position is based in Mawson Lakes, South Australia, offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of engineering innovation.

What you'll be doing

  1. Leading the design, development and integration of crotical mission systems
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware solutions meet performance, reliability and safety requirements
  3. Oversee the verification and validation of hardware designs through testing and analysis
  4. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  5. Contribute to the development of engineering policies, processes and standards to drive excellence and efficiency

What we're looking for

  1. Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
  2. Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, preferably in the defence or aerospace industry
  3. Demonstrated success in leading engineering teams and delivering complex, high-quality hardware projects
  4. Proficient in the use of engineering design and analysis tools.
  5. Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills to liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  6. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and thrive under pressure
  7. Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations and compliance requirements
