Hachi & Co are responsible for providing brand consistency, delivering all program offerings, and maintaining operational standards within the Hachi & Co product categories from dog day-care training, behavioural consults, group training classes as well as training walks. As we continue to grow and develop our services, we are seeking a senior dog trainer to help us grow our business further.
Position Summary:
The Senior dog Trainer will play an important role in our facility, as they are accountable for the consistent achievement of quality dog training outcomes whilst educating and engaging dog owners. You must be committed to, and show a genuine interest in, enhancing communication and teamwork between dog and owners by offering positive solutions and rewarding success while providing a fun and safe environment. Providing owners with exceptional dog training instruction and customer service is a core responsibility of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing training programs to teach dogs to obey verbal and non-verbal commands.
- Assessing and addressing complex behavioural problems in dogs, providing tailored intervention plans.
- Training dogs to a high standard for participation in competitions and performance events.
- Conducting comprehensive dog care duties including bathing, styling dog's coat, clipping nails, and cleaning ears to ensure their comfort and health.
- Maintaining the highest standards of hygiene by inspecting, preparing, cleaning, and disinfecting dog enclosures.
- Ensuring the individual dietary and hydration needs of each dog are met.
- Meticulously maintaining dog's health records, administering treatments for minor injuries, managing pest control, and reporting serious conditions to Veterinarians.
- Leading exercise, socialisation, and play sessions with dogs, and providing information to visitor questions.
Applicant Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of two years of professional experience as a dog trainer is required.
- Proven skills in implementing training strategies based on established dog behaviourmethodologies for individual dogs.
- Highly motivated by providing solutions, dog training skills/techniques with superiorcustomer service to dog owners.
- Demonstrate clear and concise communication skills with dog and junior trainers andcustomers.
- Effectively work without direct supervision.
- An ability to train junior trainers to up-skill their knowledge.
