The Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to support the preparation of tenders and proposals across a diverse range of electrical and infrastructure projects. This role involves reviewing tender documentation, visiting sites, liaising with clients and suppliers, and accurately pricing works to ensure competitive and compliant submissions. You will play a key part in supporting the transition of awarded projects into successful operations.
Key responsibilities:
- Review tender documents and identify key risks and requirements
- Prepare costings for tenders, schedules of rates, and proposals
- Liaise with clients, project managers, and suppliers to gather accurate information
- Develop and maintain supplier/subcontractor relationships for competitive pricing
- Support the quality assurance process to ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and client requirements
- Participate in pre-award negotiations and handover to operations teams
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience in the electrical trade with knowledge of construction and maintenance environments
- Site-based experience within the engineering, construction, or heavy industry sectors
- Strong understanding of statutory requirements, legislation, and Australian Standards
- Previous estimating experience with knowledge of construction norms and industry rates
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, with strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels
- A current "C" class driver's licence
Desirable qualifications:
- Relevant trade qualification in electrical or related discipline
This is a hands-on role suited to someone methodical, detail-oriented, and thriving in a fast-paced project environment.
