About The Business Unit
The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security correctional facility located on the fringe of the Melbourne CBD. The Prison is the State's main reception prison, receiving prisoners directly from the Courts and Police and provides assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system. The MAP also operates the Melbourne County Court, Supreme Court Appeals custody facilities, located on the corners of William and Lonsdale Streets in the CBD. These facilities manage both male and female prisoners of all security ratings, operating Monday to Friday. The location also manages the St Vincent's Hospital holding cells, providing custodial liaison and coordination of all prisoner escorts attending the hospital for medical outpatient appointments from prison locations across the State. Map also looks after the security function at the Adult Parole Board and the Post Sentence Authority located at 50 Franklin Street West Melbourne.

About The Role
The Justice Officer Team Leader supervises a team of corporate services staff in the Department's eight Regions, through which the compliance, enforcement and regulatory services are provided to the Victorian community.

Some Of Your Duties Will Include

• Supervising the Records team in the delivery of all functions pertaining to prisoner records at the Melbourne Assessment Prison in accordance with legislative and policy requirements, including the maintenance of accurate data of prisoner records and the preparation of all documentation relating to a prisoner's transfer, classification, release or courts appearances
• Supervising the Records team in the delivery of all functions pertaining to prison records including the appropriate treatment of public records and the operations of the state-wide individual management file registry
• Coordinating the operational processes associated with bails and discharges.
