BME NQ is Far North Queensland's most renowned builder of custom vessels, established in 2005. Specializing in boat design, construction, refits, repairs, and maintenance, we serve an extensive client base including government agencies, commercial operators, and private owners. Due to ongoing growth and exciting new projects, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Marine Fitter to join our team.

The Role

As a Marine Fitter, you will play a vital role in the construction, maintenance, new fit outs and refit of high-quality vessels. This permanent full-time position offers variety, with work on Navy and Border Force Patrol Boats, Southwest Pacific Nations Patrol Boats, aluminum reef tourist vessels, white boats, New Builds and pleasure craft.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualifications: Trade qualifications as a fitter or marine engineer, with experience in the marine industry preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Familiarity with lathes, mills, and marine systems, including hydraulics and engines.
