Truck, Multi Skilled & Excavator Operators – Middlemount Coal

Protech is currently seeking experienced Truck and Multi Skilled Operators to join our team at Middlemount Coal, an open cut mine located in Queensland's Bowen Basin. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure long-term work with a site boasting a 20-year mine life.


About the Site

Middlemount Coal is a joint venture between Peabody Energy and Yancoal, situated just 7km west of Middlemount and 90km northeast of Emerald.

Your Role

Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy mobile plant equipment. You'll work collaboratively with your crew and the wider site team to deliver high-quality results safely.


What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 24 months' experience in open-cut mining

  • Experience operating:

  • Trucks – CAT 789, 793, 797 or equivalent

  • Dozers – D10, D11
  • Graders – 16M, 24M/H
  • Excavators – Liebherr 994, 996 or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's Licence
  • Skills list signed by SSE or proof of competency
  • Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain)
  • Coal Board Medical (or willingness to obtain)
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol screening
