About the role

We are looking for an Agronomist with a passion for Horticulture, to join our Branch on a permanent full-time basis.

Our Agronomists build and maintain strong relationships with clients, not just for short term gains however to help them create a successful, sustainable and productive business for many years to come.

You will provide agronomic technical advice to our growing Almond and Citrus client base, products and services to help your clients thrive, as well as play the pivotal role of leading the rural products sales team and overseeing this function within the branch.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite agronomic and technical support to clients to recommend appropriate products and services to strengthen their business
  • Achieve allocated financial objectives and assist with product forecasting and inventory management
  • Promote branch staff upskilling by providing technical advice and product recommendations
  • Develop and foster professional relationships with a targeted group of existing and new clients
  • Identify and cultivate new agronomic sales opportunities for prospective and existing clients
  • Maximise promotional opportunities, including assisting at field days and farmer meetings with demonstrations and trial work
  • Lead and mentor the rural products sales team to build strong client relationships, promote beneficial products, and enhance business success.
  • Manage branch retail operations to exceed targets and monitor rural products performance against key metrics.
  • Source new business opportunities to expand market share and assist in setting retail sales targets and business planning.
  • Provide product expertise, oversee sales transactions, and coach the sales team to achieve individual and branch targets while supporting national initiatives.

About you

  • Able to thrive in a collaborative working environment
  • Are smart, resourceful and able to embrace industry research and new technology
  • Are passionate about effecting real change for both your clients and your community - with building and maintaining relationships at the core of your work
  • Have a background in disciplines such as Almonds and Citrus
  • Have a proven track record in sales and previous experience in an agronomy role
  • Have a qualification in Agronomy aiming to grow their expertise while also managing a rural products team.
  • Have an ability to provide high level customer service and cultivate relationships with potential and current growers
  • Have a tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field
  • Thrive in a flexible and agile working environment
