The Opportunity

In partnership with our host, BOC Gas and Gear, based in Wetherill Park, a leading global gases and engineering company supplying gases and equipment to sectors such as heavy industry and healthcare. BOC is seeking a 2nd Year Mechanical Fitter to join their team.

Whether you are looking to further expand your skills or transition into a new environment, this opportunity will allow you to build on your experience while working towards the successful completion of your MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Fitting / machining) and becoming a fully qualified tradesperson.

Job Details

In this role, you will assist in the safe and efficient operation of equipment under the supervision of experienced tradespeople.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair BOC equipment on-site
  • Service and refurbish vessels and systems
  • Provide hands-on support for customer equipment needs
  • Carry out audits, inspections, and safety checks
  • Install food prep and freezer equipment
  • Deliver services across multiple CES markets as needed
  • Service both company and customer-owned gas equipment
  • Perform gas purges and equipment rebuilds

Hours

  • Monday to Friday: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Overtime: May be required outside standard hours, depending on job requirements

About You

The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude and possess the following:

  • A valid driver's licence
  • A Construction White Card
  • The ability to follow instructions and work safely
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to work overtime and travel to various sites
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination required for hospital-based work
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening, and police check
