Established in January 2019, Bottega Gelateria operates three stores across Adelaide and is continuing to expand. Our philosophy is rooted in the 'Slow Food' movement, championing quality, sustainability, and respect for traditional food-making processes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Retail Manager to lead operations at our Henley Beach store. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone with strong hospitality experience, excellent people skills, and a genuine passion for premium artisanal products. You will take full ownership of the store's daily operations — driving performance, maintaining service excellence, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring efficiency and quality service at all times.

2. Plan and maintain product selections in line with customer preferences, brand philosophy, and seasonal demand.

3. Determine stock levels and coordinate timely ordering and replenishment while minimising wastage.

4. Develop and uphold in-store service standards that reflect Bottega Gelateria's commitment to excellence.

5. Design and execute local marketing initiatives, in-store promotions, and advertising campaigns.

6. Set competitive pricing strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.

7. Engage customers personally, providing expert product advice and enhancing the in-store experience.

8. Monitor and maintain records of inventory, stock movement, and daily financial transactions.

9. Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring cost control and achievement of financial targets.

10. Recruit, train, and manage staff, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.

11. Conduct staff appraisals and regular performance feedback sessions.

12. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and internal policies.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a managerial role within the hospitality or retail industry.

• Barista experience and strong understanding of food service operations.

• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.

· Demonstrated experience in stock control, ordering, pricing strategies, and inventory management systems.

· Knowledge of merchandising and promotional strategies, with the ability to execute local marketing campaigns.

• Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.

• Proficiency in English language (written and verbal).

Qualifications

• A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Retail Management, Business, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Alternatively, extensive hands-on management experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $76,515.00 – $80,000.00 per year
