Our client, a large Federal Government is seeking aTechnology Architect

Location of work: ACT

Initial contract 7 month with 12 month extension

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the assessment, design, and management of ICT domains and application landscapes to support the program's modernisation goals.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the existing ICT environment and future-state architecture.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership and practical implementation expertise when needed, demonstrating a strong 'doer' mindset.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and sustainable ICT solutions.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the technology environment and develop mitigation and optimisation strategies.
  • Drive adoption of best practices and emerging technologies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Support governance frameworks and ensure compliance with relevant policies, standards, and regulations.

Essential criteria

  1. Demonstrated expertise and hands-on experience managing complex ICT domains and enterprise platforms within federal government or large regulated public sector organisations.
  2. Ability to navigate government-specific technology frameworks, security standards, and compliance requirements.
  3. Experience Leading ICT Modernisation and Transformation Initiatives, including application portfolio management, platform lifecycle oversight, and integration of legacy and emerging technologies.
  4. Ability to work effectively with diverse federal stakeholders, including policy teams, technical specialists, vendors, and executive leadership.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to identify and mitigate technical risks, drive innovation, and develop practical solutions.
