A bit about the role

Reporting to the Director City Planning and Infrastructure, this senior leadership role leads the Growth and Investment Department, overseeing multiple specialist teams responsible for statutory and strategic planning, property, engineering, subdivision, and economic development services.

These teams play a critical role in shaping new communities in both established and growth areas, while driving investment and economic prosperity across the City of Casey.

Play a key role in the Casey Leadership Team by shaping an adaptable, future-ready organisation where innovation and partnerships thrive to deliver maximum community benefit.

This is a leadership opportunity like no other, empowered with planning and financial delegations, you'll influence major projects, manage significant developer contributions, and bring ideas and reform to life balancing strategic vision with operational excellence.

What you'll deliver

  • Strategic and statutory planning and implementation of precinct structure plans for future communities.
  • Effective management of $1.6 billion in developer contributions and public open space funds.
  • Economic development initiatives that support existing businesses and attract new investment
  • Efficient management of Council's property portfolio, including innovative Strategic Property Program.
  • Comprehensive delivery of development engineering, subdivision and landscape planning outcomes across the musicality.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster both internal and external relationships and maximise partnership opportunities
  • Passion for leading teams and developing people.

Your Skills & Attributes

  • Tertiary qualifications in planning, engineering, project management or related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of property sector and land development processes.
  • Proven leadership experience and ability to develop high-performing teams.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Psychometric Testing
