Reporting to and working with the Chief Medical Advisor (CMA) the Deputy Chief Medical Officer will also work closely with the Executive Director Clinical Services and other senior leaders across SA Ambulance Service (SAAS) and our stakeholders to maintain and improve the quality, safety and effectiveness of clinical care delivered by all SAAS staff.

The Deputy CMO has a responsibility for providing professional leadership, advocacy and facilitating the development of a culture of safety and quality in the medical workforce and the clinical services of SAAS.

The Deputy CMO will be required to participate in a 1-in-4 on-call roster to provide clinical support to other SAAS clinical staff.

The Deputy CMO will lead relevant collaborative work across SAAS paying particular attention to the management of low acuity/high complexity patient activity both in frontline operations and in the Emergency Operations Centre/Clinical Hub.
