Austal Australia is delivering multiple naval shipbuilding and sustainment programs for the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Border Force, and the Department of Defence, employing approximately 1,000 people in facilities in located Western Australia, Queensland, and the Northern Territory.

Austal Engineering Graduate Program

The Austal Engineering Graduate program will assist you to gain practical experience and exposure to all areas of our business. You will work in development of innovative vessels, working on everything from propulsion and structural design to electrical systems and automation or support the backbone of our operations by ensuring financial integrity and strategic growth. Engage in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business success and operational excellence.

We have graduate roles in the following disciplines available now:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Systems Engineering

Providing you with valuable exposure to all areas of our business, the Austal Graduate Scheme includes periodic placements across multiple functions - including Production, Procurement, Design, Engineering, Commercial, and Programs.

About You

  • For Students in their final year of study in 2025 or recently graduated and not yet in professional work.
  • Australian Citizenship
