About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join Colab Lighting' as a Trainee and complete a Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application. You will gain hands-on experience in the painting and decorating industry, working alongside experienced tradespeople to develop your skills and knowledge.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating by cleaning, sanding, and repairing them
  • Apply a variety of coating materials such as paints, stains, and varnishes to different surfaces
  • Use a range of tools and equipment, including spray guns, rollers, and brushes
  • Measure and mix paint and other coating materials to achieve the desired colour and consistency
  • Ensure work areas are clean, tidy, and safe at all times
  • Participate in on-the-job training and attend off-site courses to complete the Certificate III qualification
