They're looking for a Product Engineering Lead to guide the evolution of their backend platform combining hands-on technical leadership with the opportunity to shape product direction and influence architectural decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the design and development of secure, scalable backend systems using Python and cloud-native tools.
  • Architect and maintain microservices that power automation and integration across large, distributed environments.
  • Drive automation across deployment, testing, and operations to improve reliability and delivery speed.
  • Collaborate with Product, Security, and DevOps teams to embed secure-by-design engineering practices.
  • Mentor and support a small team of engineers, fostering a culture of curiosity, quality, and accountability.
  • Engage with customers and product teams to translate needs into scalable, impactful backend solutions.

What You'll Bring

  • Excellent communication is a must. Clear, pragmatic, and comfortable engaging across tech and business.
  • A proactive, hands-on approach, you don't just lead; you enable and inspire others to build better.
  • Strong experience in Python (Django, FastAPI, or similar frameworks a bonus).
  • Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Proven experience leading Agile teams in a product-focused environment.
  • Background in cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also welcome).
  • Passion for clean code, scalable architecture, and automation.
  • Due to the nature of his role Australian Citizenship is required.
