Value NSW (VNSW)
is currently seeking up to six (6) Graduate Valuers to join their expanded in house Rating & Taxing valuations team - responsible for valuing every parcel of land in NSW and gain exposure to determining appropriate compensation for land and interests subject to compulsory acquisition on behalf of the Valuer General, as well as providing Cluster and cross Cluster valuation support and advice where appropriate to do so.

The Role
As a Graduate Valuer, you will develop skills to become a qualified Valuer and upon conclusion of the graduate program may be successful in obtaining Associate membership with the Australian Property Institute. The Graduate Valuer undertakes and assists with providing professional, expert and authoritative property and valuation information and technical expertise that is consistent with legislation, policy and community standards and expectations.
The 24-month program will see graduates experience up to four work rotations of up to six months each with different teams within Value NSW, which may include Rating & Taxing, Objections, Compulsory Acquisitions and Special Valuations to give them a wide breadth of training and learning experiences. Essential Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Student Member or Provisional Member of the Australian Property Institute
Completion of, or undertaking, qualifications that meet the eligibility requirements to apply for Associate Membership of the Australian Property Institute –noting that any qualification being undertaken must be completed or be eligible for completion by end of 2025.
Current driver's licence and willingness to travel.

The Valuer General is an independent statutory officer, appointed by the Governor of New South Wales to oversee the State's land valuation system.
Value NSW (VNSW
),
part of the
Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure
, delivers the valuation system for rating and taxing as well as compulsory acquisition compensation purposes via delegation of the Valuer General of NSW. This includes but is not limited to:
Making more than 2.7 million residential, rural, commercial and industrial valuations annually, with a total value of approximately $3 trillion as well as managing compulsory acquisition determinations in situations where government cannot reach agreement, totalling over $1 billion per annum
Delivering customer services and experience for 2.7 million landholders per annum – receiving up to 50,000 calls and many more enquiries
Monitoring, assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the
Valuation of Land Act 1916
and the
Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991
.

VNSW
provides other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations for other cluster or statewide government partners – including being responsible for the delivery of all valuations for government property transactions as defined by the Government Property Framework and Treasurer's Directions as well as more than $84 billion in government asset valuations for financial accounting purposes.
