THE ROLE:

As an intern with our industry-leading Graphics IP team, you will be involved in architecting, designing, and verifying AMD's Graphics Processing Units (GPUs). You will work on current development projects for Graphics and Machine Learning GPUs, contributing to architecture modeling and verification using the latest industry-standard tools and methodologies.

This internship lasts up to 3 months over the summer university holiday period.

THE PERSON:

We are seeking highly motivated Software Engineering intern to join our modeling team at AMD.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our hardware simulation models

  • We will provide training on our modelling workflow and development process, from design  to implementation and verification 
  • We will encourage you to build scripts and using AI tools to automate some of our modelling development process 
  • We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software and hardware issues
  • In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

If you have knowledge / experience with any of the following technical skills (or related areas) and are enthusiastic about this role, we strongly encourage you to apply.

  • Software engineering concepts, principles, and theories  
  • C/C++ programming and Scripting language like Python, Windows PowerShell and Linux shell script
  • Operating systems UNIX/Linux OS
  • Defect tracking, testing, debugging 
  • Git, Github, Perforce 
  • PC / CPU architecture, Embedded systems, microcontrollers
  • Solid understanding of Graphics, OpenGL/GLSL/HLSL

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • You are completing the third year of a Bachelor's degree in Computer or Software Engineering, or a related field.
