Geotest is a fast-growing, South Australian based company that specialises in the fabrication of geosynthetic products.

We are looking for a Hands-on Factory Supervisor with ample manufacturing experience using Geosynthetics or similar materials such as Tarpaulins, Sails, Tents or Heavy-Duty Blinds/Awnings.

Dress makers and Curtain makers need not apply. We are dealing with large rolls of thick, heavy-weight durable fabric similar to tarpaulins. This type of manufacture requires a specialised skill set and the ability to use industrial equipment.

This is a factory based position in Wingfield South Australia - this is not a desk job - you'll be welding and fabricating alongside the crew whilst maintaining team momentum and productivity.

About the Role:

  • Lead and Supervise a team of fabricators and labourers
  • Hands-on fabrication
  • RF (radio-frequency) Welding - We'll offer in-house training as needed
  • Lay out plastic sheeting
  • Measure, mark-out, cut & sew with high accuracy
  • Operate and re-thread sewing machines
  • Assemble floating covers and specialised plastics and canvas
  • Ensure products are made to specification and delivered on-time
  • Oversee and manage the workflow, safety and organisation in the factory

What you'll bring:

  • Good communication
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Experience in sewing Geotextile, Welding Plastic Sheeting, Tarpaulins, Sails, Tents, Heavy-Duty Blinds or similar material (essential)
  • Experience in using a Wedge Welder and RF Welder is preferred
  • Effectively supervise and lead a team in a workshop environment
  • Full Rights to Work within Australia
